AFCON (Association of Finance and Control) is a professional community where the students of the MFC Programme are active and enterprising to augment the academic curriculum. AFCON is an independent body run by the students . These activities are oragnised under the aegis of AFCON and are oriented towards inducting a close rapport with the corporate sector and to expose the students to the industry ambience. In pursuit of this objective, an intimate association with the professionals of the industry is sought in the form of special lectures and seminars. Hand-in-hand with this, regular workshops, case-discussions and business games are conducted to effect a multi-dimensional growth of the students through their active participation in such extra-curricular activities.

AFCON endeavours to integrate these activities into the normal curriculum and consequently widen the scope of the learning process. It is under the aegis of AFCON that these various activities take place every year:



Teams

1. Convention Team: The convention team organizes an Annual Convention every year which is an exclusive forum for the students to interact with the top Indian entrepreneurs and management experts from both the academic and the business world.

2. Alumni Team: This team facilitates the bond between DFS and the alumni network. This team plays an extremely vital role in maintaining good relations with the industry professionals. They organize 3 main alumni meets at Delhi, Bombay and Bangalore. They also maintain an alumni database and act as liaison arm for staying in touch with the cream alumni of DFS.

3. Corporate Relations & Communication Team: This team strengthens relations of DFS with the corporate world. The rich information imparted by the top brass of the corporate world helps the students to gain insights into various sectors. This team is also responsible in inviting some of the top notch finance and marketing professionals to give weekly guest lectures to the students of DFS.

4. Newsletter Team and Web team: DFS publishes a Newsletter with the latest happenings inside/outside the campus and also current developments that take place in the corporate industry. The Newsletter is rich in content and provides its readers with the hottest buzz from the finance world. It also contains some fantastic articles written by the students, research papers by experts and other facts and figures relevant to its readers. The web team is dedicated maintaining a sleek web site for DFS.

5. Placement Team: The aim of the placement team is to supervise and provide directions for the final placement and the summer internship of the students. To ensure that every student gets the best of the opportunities the team sets very high standards for itself and strives consistently to surpass them. In doing so it plays a key role in realizing the career aspirations of these students.

Clubs

1. The Bullring: The Finance Club of DFS which tracks and generates research reports and evokes informal discussions and brainstorming sessions on various issues related to finance. The forum is called Fundamentalists and the blog run by this club is titled `A Random Walk down an Analyst Journey’.

2. X-Con: The Consultancy Club of DFS is dedicated to bringing out the finer details through its consultancy forum named Roundtable. The students dissect current events taking place in the business world highlighting the results and the implications.

3. DFS Talkies: The Cine Club of DFS is all about sharing views and personal experiences about movies through a forum named `Spotting the Shadows on the Wall”.

4. The Inquisitives: The Quiz Club of DFS helps the students to sharpen their knowledge base by leveraging quizzing as an interactive tool that offers fun as well as a sense of competition. The club has a forum called `Q Zone’ focused on analyzing current corporate events.

5. Rhythm of Life: The Social Outreach and Stress Management Club of DFS lays emphasis on socially relevant activities/issues. The students of this club are highly focused on fostering development at the grass root level to make a difference. The forum `Take my Hand’ concentrates on Social Outreach programs and Food for Soul concentrates on stress management.

6. Portfolio Club: The Portfolio Club of DFS exposes students to real life issues through a variety of activities which includes inviting industry professionals on campus, conducting simulation games, and developing skills through on-campus workshops.
