About the MFC Programme
The Department of Financial Studies provides a two-year (full-time) Master of Finance and Control (MFC) Programme. MFC is a place for those who aspire to enhance their managerial efficacy in the finance industry. It endeavours to provide the industry with qualified, resolute and dedicated finance professionals. Since the past two decades it has held on to its strengths of profound knowledge, rational problem solving, global experience, cross-functional integration and pioneering spirit.
MFC rises beyond the acquisition of knowledge, concepts and skills. The drive, initiative and pro activeness of the students find an expression through varied extracurricular activities and events. These activities are organized under the aegis of the student body AFCON (Association of Finance and Control).
Convention - An Industry Interface Platform
Convention is the flagship event of the student activities at MFC. It is an annual event held with an objective to nourish the industry linkages and amalgamate students’ theoretical knowledge with the pragmatic insights of professionals. The event has been continually graced with the presence of prominent personalities from the corporate cult and the Academia.
Convention 2008
Building on the overwhelming success of Convention 2007, this year Convention 2008 promises to be bigger and better than ever before. Based upon the theme of ‘Global Economy and Indian Financial Markets: Opportunities and Challenges’ it seeks to look at the various issues faced by the Financial Sector in the wake of the Global Economic Shocks. An exclusive blend of interactive sessions on Sub-prime Crisis, Financial Frauds, Risk Management in Banks and Corporate Restructuring is, therefore, expected.
