Shirin Rathore

Prof. Rathore has teaching and research experience of over four decades. One of her well-received and highly
rated books entitled 'International Accounting' is the first of its kind by an Indian author and is very popular
among top Indian B-Schools including IIMs. She has edited two books namely Indian Capital Market - An
Empirical Study' and 'Contemporary Issues in Commerce and Business'. Several of her research papers have
been published in leading national journals. She has also presented papers at several international conferences
abroad. She is a member of the American Accounting Association, its International Accounting and
Management Accounting Section and a life member of the Indian Accounting Association and its Research
Foundation. 15 M.Phil. Dissertation have been completed under her supervision. She has supervised two
Ph.D. student and five Ph.D. students are currently working under her supervision. She had been a visiting
Fellow at the Maison des Sciences de l' Homme, Paris under the Indo-French cultural exchange programme
during September-October, 2000. Her areas of teaching interests are International Financial Management and
International Accounting. She was awarded the first gold medal instituted by the Indian Accounting
Association for the Best Paper in 'Lease Accounting' at the All India Accounting Conference in 1987. In 2002
the Indian Accounting Association honoured her for her distinguished service to the field of accounting. She is
also a resource person for Management Development Programme in contemporary areas like Transfer Pricing
and Taxation.
Prof. Muneesh
Kumar

Head of the Department
Prof. Muneesh is an M.Phil. and Ph.D. from University of Delhi. He has teaching and research experience of
over two and a half decades. He has authored two books and edited one book. More than 25 of his articles have
been published in journals of repute. A couple of his research papers have been awarded prizes for their
outstanding contribution. He is presently supervising the research work of five Ph.D. students. More than 10
M.Phil. Dissertations have been completed under his supervision. He has presented papers at several national
and international seminars/conferences. He was a visiting Fellow under the Indo-French Cultural Exchange
Programme during September-October 2001. His areas of special interest are: Financial Information
Management and Management of Bank Funds. He has been a member of the Accounting Standards Board of
the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is on the editorial board of Perspectives in Management, an
international journal.
Prof.
Sanjay Sehgal
M.Phil(Finance), Ph.D. (Finance)
Prof Sanjay Sehgal is a Ph.D. Finance from Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi and has one Post
Doctorial Research on 'Multi Factor Asset Pricing' from Department of Accounting and Finance, London
School of Economics (U. K.). He has completed two major research projects on Mutual Funds Performance
Evaluation and Asset Pricing. He has authored a book entitled 'Asset Pricing in Indian Stock Market' and has
written about 30 research papers, which have been published in leading finance journals. He has made many
presentations of his research papers in finance conferences in India and abroad. He has acted as a resource
person for EDP Programme orgnised by Stock Holding Corporation of India (SHCI), ICICI Prudential
Mutual Fund, PEC Limited, NIFM etc. His areas of specialisation are Investment Analysis, Portfolio
Management and Financial Econometrics.
Dr.
V. K. Vasal
Ph.D. (Accounting)
Dr. V. K. Vasal is a first rank holder in M.Com., and a Ph.D (Accounting) from University of Delhi . He has
been actively associated in recent years with research in the area of corporate accounting and reporting practices.
In his teaching and research career spanning over 25 years he has contributed more than 40 papers in reputed
journals. He has made presentations at many national and international conferences. He has conducted
workshops and delivered special lectures at various universities in Canada, Continental Europe, the UK and the
US. He has the distinction of winning the inaugural 'Young Researchers' Gold Medal' and four 'Best
Conference Paper' awards of the Indian Accounting Association. He has been a visiting research scholar at the
University of Kansas under the CIBER program of the US Federal Government since 2001. He has also acted
as a resource person in EDP/MDP conducted by the Government of India, leading professional bodies, and
companies such as BHEL, DPE, ICAI, ICWAI, Indian Oil, IFFCO, Maruti, NIFM, ONGC and Samtel
Group. His areas of special interest are Financial Accounting and Corporate Reporting. Currently, he is also
Director, Centre for Canadian Studies, University of Delhi, South Campus.
Dr.
Nidhi Jain
M.Phil. (Marketing), Ph.D.(Finance)
Dr. Nidhi Jain is a cross functional specialist. A gold medalist from Delhi University and a Doctorate from
Faculty of Management Studies (FMS, D.U), she has post graduate teaching experience of seventeen years. She
has authored a book entitled 'Restructuring Indian Financial System'. Several of her papers have been
published in leading national journals. She has completed a UGC sponsored major research project on
''Developing MIS for Foreign Exchange Exposure Management' and a UGC sponsored Minor Research
Project on 'International Financial Flows'. Her areas of teaching include Services Marketing, Business and
Corporate Laws and Management Accounting. Her focal areas of research currently is Service Quality in Cross
Cultural Setting.
Dr.
Amitabh Gupta
M.Com, M.Phil, MFC, Ph.D (Finance)
Dr. Amitabh Gupta is an M.Com, M.Phil, MFC and Ph.D from University of Delhi. He has the distinction of
standing first in M.Com at South Campus and securing 3rd position in MFC. He has over 18 years of teaching
and research experience. He also has rich experience of working in the Financial Services Industry which
includes Equity Research, Investments and Mutual Funds. He has authored a book entitled 'Mutual Funds in
India: A study of Investment Management' and co-edited a book entitled 'Indian Capital Market: An
Empirical Study'. He has published around two dozen research papers and has presented papers at domestic as
well as international conferences. He was a Research Fellow at the Maison des Science de I' Homme, Paris
2003. His areas of research include Mutual Funds, Capital Markets and Stock Market Efficiency.
Dr. Monica Singhania
M.Com., F.C.A., Ph.D
Dr. Monica Singhania is a postgraduate from Delhi School of Economics and a Fellow of the Institute of
Chartered Accountants of India. She has over eight years of teaching experience. Her areas of teaching interests
are Tax Planning and Financial Management. She has co-authored over four books on Direct Taxes. She has
recently completed a UGC sponsored minor research project on Corporate Taxation.
