Economy Media Awards – 2005

The wheels of the financial sector run on the oil of the right information, at the right time and to the right persons. Assimilation, timely dissemination and accessibility to relevant information is crucial to the working of the financial sector. The last decade has evidenced far- reaching improvements in the means and quality of information broadcasting with the media being a front runner in this ICE (Information, Communication and Entertainment) revolution.

Recognizing the importance of media in the development of efficient, transparent and competitive financial markets and ensuring a fair playing ground for all participants, the Department of Financial Studies has taken the initiative of instituting an annual series of “Economy Media Awards” to be given for excellence and contribution in the field of economic and finance journalism (both print and electronic media).
